Per-Diem Substitute Teacher

Newark CSD is seeking reliable and conscientious daily substitute teachers for both the elementary and secondary levels.  Work as a substitute teacher in a variety of school buildings; implement daily lesson plans with fidelity; develop a rapport with students that fosters academic engagement and appropriate behavior in a culturally responsive manner.  Prior teaching experience is not required.

$120/day- Certified; $105/day- Uncertified
Special Education Teacher- Secondary

Probationary Special Education Teachers at the Secondary Level:

* Prepare lessons that align to the NYS learning standards

* Effectively plan, teach, and assess lessons designed to meet the needs of individual students and the NYS learning standards

* Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of each student, as outlined in their IEPs and individual needs 

* Create an organized classroom with clear expectations and procedures

* Analyze various points of data and modify instructional goals that promote the highest level of student learning  

* Participate in student meetings with Newark staff and family members

* Communicate regularly with family members, keeping them informed of their child’s progress  

* Performing such other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

School Psychologist

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:      

 

* Ability to collaborate and consult with educational team members, parents, and component districts to create a safe and supportive learning environment     

* Evaluate students to determine current functioning, strengths and needs-using that data to create a supportive environment at school and strengthens the home school connection, using current, valid and reliable assessment tools

* Collaborate with educational team members, parents, and staff to identify environmental factors that may be impacting learning         

* Work with team members and building personnel to provide targeted interventions to teach social, emotional or behavioral regulation

* Provide group and/or individual counseling using evidence-based interventions to address the diverse needs of students

* Gather data, through observations, records review, phone conversations with professionals outside of the school setting, to identify level of functioning for students, strengths and needs to achieving social emotional balance.

* Communicate with community-based providers to continue support for students at home

* Maintain knowledge of skills related to trauma, illness and grief, and provide crisis intervention for students and/or staff members as needed    

* Reevaluations and Initial Evaluations of students

* Creating Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.         

* Performing such other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

* High level of knowledge of research-based instructional strategies and NYS standards

* Ability to assess students using multiple modalities of assessment and analyze data to inform instruction

 * Ability to establish and maintain a professional rapport with other teachers and staff in classroom

* Ability to work alongside colleagues

 * Appropriate NYSED Certification

* Create an organized counseling space to effective work with students                                 

* Provide services as directed for students with IEPs    

* Track progress toward IEP goals and report to students, parents, and teachers                       

* Analyze various points of data and modify instructional goals that promote the highest level of student acheivement      

* Participate in student meetings with Newark staff and family members and the CSE                

* Communicate regularly with family members, keeping them informed of their child’s progress          

* Performing such other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
