GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The current responsibilities of the Psychologist are:   

        • Demonstrate, promote, and practice cultural sensitivity toward students and staff through respect and understanding
        • Promote equity, practice cultural responsiveness, create inclusive environments
        • Ability to collaborate and consult with educational team members, parents, and component districts to create a safe and supportive learning environment
        • Work with team members and building personnel to provide targeted interventions to teach social, emotional or behavioral regulation
        • Collaborate with educational team members, parents, and staff to identify environmental factors that may be impacting learning
        • Communicate with community-based providers to continue support for students at home
        • Provide group and/or individual counseling using evidence-based interventions to address the diverse needs of students
        • Evaluate students to determine current functioning, strengths and needs using that data to create a supportive environment at school and strengthen the home school connection, using current, valid and reliable assessment tools
        • Gather data, through observations, records review, phone conversations with professionals outside of the school setting, to identify level of functioning for students, strengths and needs to achieving social emotional balance
        • Conduct initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and Functional Behavioral Assessments
        • Develop, implement, and monitor behavior intervention plans and crisis management plans
        • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
        • Maintain knowledge of skills related to trauma, informed practices and provide crisis intervention for students and/or staff members as needed
        • Performing such other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Anticipated - Elementary Teacher- AIS MATH - Long Term Substitute

Long-term Substitute Elementary AIS MATH Teacher- Maternity Leave

Effective On or about November 2, 2026- end date TBD. 

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher Position is responsible for instruction to their assigned students, follow New York State Learning Standards, build a positive learning environment, attend to student accountability, maintain accurate and reliable records of student progress, and maintain regular communication and outreach to students’ families.

  • Prepare lessons that align to the NYS learning standards
  • Effectively plan, teach, and assess lessons designed to meet the needs of individual students and the NYS learning standards
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of each student, as outlined in their IEPs and individual needs 
  • Create an organized classroom with clear expectations and procedures
  • Analyze various points of data and modify instructional goals that promote the highest level of student learning  
  • Participate in student meetings with Newark staff and family members
  • Communicate regularly with family members, keeping them informed of their child’s progress  
  • Performing such other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

10 MONTH POSITION

SALARY: Base= $49,275.00 /Year plus stipends for Master’s Degree and Grad Hours and additional benefits as outlined in the NTA Contract

START DATE: ASAP

LOCATION: Anticipated: Middle & High School
