Job Description

Full scope fleet maintenance responsibility of all school bus vehicles. Supervises mechanics and schedules maintenance as required by district needs and Department of Transportation regulations.

Skills Required: Candidates must possess a broad knowledge of technical skills in heavy truck and automotive repairs. Experience in troubleshooting diagnostic codes and electrical systems are necessary. Must maintain parts, budget, and demonstrated knowledge related to parts and inventory management. Needs to be familiar with fleet maintenance software computer communications as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.

Job Qualifications

-Competitive, Civil Service Position – Provisional appointment subject to taking the next scheduled examination

-Makes skilled repairs and adjustments to a variety of automotive equipment, does related work as required

-Possession of a CDL Class B license or willingness to take the necessary steps to obtain this license
